Inner Circle: Alexandra Gómez

This month, we had the sweet pleasure of featuring Portland-based photographer + model, Alexandra Gómez. Her name might sound familiar to some around here, because she also leads our social media marketing as Under Luna’s Content + Partnerships Manager. Usually the one managing, photographing, and facilitating partnerships like these, she instead, took the time to offer her own words on ritual, motherhood, and life in the creative lane.

How would you describe your current phase of life?

— one of expansion, fine-tuning, and ferocity. Becoming a mother immediately altered my concept of time, reminding me of how precious a life (a childhood) is and has allowed me to take inventory of what does and does not serve me. I find myself practicing self-trust more than ever before. Your intuition always knows.

I feel most myself when...

I'm in Barcelona, roaming the streets, ordering a cappuccino, writing in my journal with no expectations.

What’s your recipe for ’taking care?’

— slowing it all down, getting back to basics. I tend to be someone who carries the weight of the world on their shoulders, and forget that I don't have to do it all. Meditation and breathing intentionally help take care of the mind, a workout and sauna tend to the body, and cooking dinner with my husband and son fuel the soul. Bringing back some intentionality to my actions often brings about the flow, and thus, ease.

Describe your favorite Under Luna ritual.

— a bubble bath. After I get Luca to bed, I'll sneak off to run myself a bath, pour a big mason jar full of water, and sink in. The Body Cleanser suds up perfectly, while filling the air with such a peaceful and calming scent. After, I lather up my warm skin with All Things, making for the perfect nightcap.
