Angie Barrios has a gift for filling a table. Originally from Colombia and currently based in Portland, Angie has created her own culinary world, Comparta, inspired by her roots, cultivating community and making space for play. It was a joy to capture her at-home leaning into self + honing in to her own version of care both in and outside of the kitchen.
How would you describe your current phase of life?
I’ve been in a space of preparation. If you were to ask me “what for?” I would say “I don’t know.” But the feeling is there, the intuition is urging and insisting for planning, nesting, a deep reassurance of myself.
I feel most myself whenI’m home with my partner, giggling and enjoying our space together.
What's your recipe for 'taking care'?
Sometimes taking care isn’t necessarily a relaxing thing. For me, it’s checking in with myself in a very honest way to see if I’m moving towards the person I’m proud of becoming and cultivating a community that I am proud of.
Your favorite Under Luna ritual.
I genuinely love night baths, I light a candle and allow those few minutes to be a very sensory driven experience. The smells are so delicious and calming for the rest of my evening before I head to bed!
